The Chief of Staff plays an integral role in creating organizational efficiency and enabling the CEO to perform at the highest level of value creation. Reporting to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will make time, information, and decision-making more effective by leading, scaling, and driving operational and communications excellence. As a critical component in supporting a successful leadership team, the Chief of Staff will create operational procedures and drive the success of leadership team initiatives and strategic priorities. Specifically, they will contribute to meaningful outcomes by partnering to implement decision making frameworks and acting as a true confidant and trusted advisor to the CEO. This role will have key oversight over internal communications, strategic prioritization of the CEO’s time, and management of adhoc special projects including cultivating strong relationships with Senior executives at retailers to facilitate process alignment.

As the right hand to the CEO, you will gain a front-row seat to a high-growth company and access to a strategic senior leadership team. You will work on some interesting problems and be a thought partner to the C-Suite on major company decisions. The leverage you provide the CEO will be a driving force behind Foodspace’s aggressive and expansive growth.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, operations-focused, and adept at rolling up their sleeves and performing all functions from administrative processing to enabling complex and high-impact strategic initiatives in a rapidly-changing environment. As a collaborative partner across all functional areas of the business, the right candidate will excel at building relationships, navigating complexity, and acting as a force multiplier.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a true thought partner to the CEO by providing direct support, helping to set strategic and operational priorities, and, at times, delegating on his behalf.
  • Optimize CEO’s time allocation by evaluating opportunities and determining fit with priorities including oversight over calendar management, weekly staff meeting, quarterly/annual planning, and customer acquisition.
  • Partner with the executive team to manage their teams, coordinate projects to completion, and create long-term and short-term strategies and plans including determining resource needs, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, managing progress against objectives and KPIs, and identifying critical areas requiring CEO oversight.
  • Oversee internal and advisor communications with a focus on driving alignment and opening communication channels including overseeing townhall, preparing for board meetings, refining internal and external messaging, and drafting organization-wide communications from the CEO.
  • Execute on the CEO’s vision through tight project management of strategic and high-growth special ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives including retail leadership coordination, executive planning, and strategic goal setting.
  • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and across senior leaders to align business objectives, streamline organizational processes, implement best practices, and ensure teams are working together, tasks are completed, and outcomes are met.
  • Lead proactive identification of issues and challenges affecting internal teams and efficient execution of timely resolutions with a focus on elevating issues that the CEO needs to be aware of and framing ideas to effectively resolve complex business problems and competing priorities.
  • Facilitate strategic meetings such as executive team meetings, management meetings, and critical client or prospect meetings by drafting agendas and ensuring the CEO is fully prepared to meaningfully contribute.
  • Ideate with the CEO to assess the current Plan, Process, and Problems for each team by providing specific feedback and ensuring operational success.
  • Be the “go-to” person that ensures continuity and successful completion of goals across teams by defining a way to measure progress, supporting execution of executive and team goals and objectives, and taking ownership over operational project management and assessment.
  • Improve current processes and coordinate high-quality organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.
  • Serve as liaison between executives, senior leaders, and CEO, regarding project updates, proposals, and planning with a proven ability to bring together multiple stakeholders and drive decisions forward.
  • Accelerate growth and efficiency by supporting the CEO in documenting and ensuring accountability for commitments, assessing success, and designating time to be accessible to internal teams and open to new ideas and proposals.
  • Monitor top, down, and sideways information flow by acting as a gate-keeper and deciding on the appropriate moment to involve the CEO in projects and/or decisions.

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or a similar field
  • 5+ years in a business or management role
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
  • Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide constructive feedback
  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Proven success planning, organizing, and leading strategic initiatives and projects
  • Ability to rapidly shift priorities in a dynamic and transformative environment
